Work and its environment have an enormous ability to either promote good mental health or increase the likelihood of mental illness. Depression, anxiety, and other mental illnesses are leading causes of disability and reduced productivity worldwide. Join us as our panel of Mental Health and Medical Professionals lead a discussion about normalizing conversations surrounding mental health, employee assistance programs, how you can lead by example as well steps you can take to create a healthier culture that fosters a safe environment to talk about mental health.
ABOUT THE PANELISTS
Reetika Kumar, M.D., FACP
Vice President of Strategic Clinical Solutions, and Market Medical Executive, Independence Blue Cross
Reetika Kumar is Vice President of Strategic Clinical Solutions and Market Medical Executive. Her expertise and commitment to improving the health of Independence Blue Cross members is focused on proven practices, evidenced-based medicine, and cost-effective health care delivery. In her current role, Dr. Kumar oversees the delivery of health care services for self-funded and fully insured employer groups. She has been in managed care for more than 14 years and has been a physician for more than 25 years. She is an accomplished physician executive with expertise in the hospital and health care industries.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Kumar played a pivotal role in disseminating critical information about vaccines, masking, and other safety protocols aimed at keeping people well. Dr. Kumar is a Fellow at the American College of Physicians. She serves on the board for POWER for Professional Women, the Kaitlyn Murphy Foundation, and Chimes. She also serves as an advisor on the Grant Advisory Committee for Fred Footsteps. Dr. Kumar completed her internal medicine residency training at Johns Hopkins University.
Nick Baldwin,
Senior Client Relationship Manager, CuraLinc Healthcare
Nick has been with CuraLinc since November of 2019 when he joined as a Client Relationship Manager specializing in dealing with smaller to mid-level market companies. Coming in with a unique background, Nick’s career has spanned across various industries and cities. During Nick’s time as a Client Relationship Manager, he stressed the importance of truly building that relationship between himself and the clients he worked with. Nick’s easy-going, informal approach to communication made his clients and their employees feel comfortable reaching out to the EAP at a time when this benefit seemed most crucial — during the COVID-19 pandemic. Outside of work, Nick loves to stay active. When the weather permits, you can find Nick running along the lakefront, attending a Cubs game or playing softball with friends.
Grace Lichtenstein
Manager of Training, CuraLinc Healthcare
Grace Lichtenstein joined CuraLinc Healthcare as the Manager of Training in 2021. As a psychotherapist with training in both Eastern and Western health philosophies, she uses a holistic approach to wellness, which allows her to provide comprehensive and innovative strategies that support biopsychosocial health. Grace completed her master’s in counseling psychology and spent almost a decade serving clients both in her private counseling practice and as a primary therapist in a substance abuse treatment center in the largest hospital system in Alaska. Later, she entered the speaking and training field while continuing to support clients through her therapeutic coaching practice. As a trainer and speaker, Grace has engaged with over 150,000 participants in all 50 states and in 20 foreign countries through in-person public seminars, corporate on-site visits, and webinars to provide them with the tools and resources to become healthier, more productive and less stressed both in their personal and professional lives.
Jeani M. Rodgers
Second Vice President, Senior Benefits Manager, USLI
Jeani has been with USLI since March of 2007 when she joined the Personal Development team as a Benefits Manager. Her experience comes with a well-rounded background since graduating from Rowan University in 1995. Jeani worked as a provider representative with a large insurance carrier for over eight years and then a broker for employee benefits sales of small to mid-market companies before coming to USLI.
During her 16-year tenure as a Benefits Manager, Jeani worked to enhance the benefits package at USLI which includes a selection of voluntary plan options to meet our people where they need to be met. She built a trusting relationship of empathy and professionalism within the USLI community. She developed a series of classes that focuses on the importance of benefit education so our community has an understanding of all available resources for their medical, financial and mental health wellness needs. Jeani works alongside our leadership teams to assist them with their people needs, issues and concerns. She makes herself available for team huddles and one-on-one meetings to assist in resolving issues. Jeani is kind, compassionate and approachable. She has the willingness to listen so that everyone feels heard, which makes people comfortable when going to her as a resource.
Jaimie Dixon
Benefits Support Team Member, USLI
Jaimie Dixon joined USLI in August of 2022 as a Benefits Support Team Member. In her role on the Benefits team, Jaimie assists employees in understanding and utilizing their benefits and resources. Not only does she encourage people to be aware of their physical health, but she also encourages people to be aware of their mental health. She is involved with USLI’s mental health initiative to provide employees with tools to increase their awareness of their own mental health and to improve their overall well-being. People often reach out to the Benefits team when they need help and do not know where to go; Jaimie serves as an empathetic ear to listen while connecting them to professional mental health providers.
Jaimie graduated from Eastern University with a bachelor’s in English. After graduating, she taught 10th grade English for the 2021-2022 school year. In addition to supporting students’ academic development, Jaimie also supported their social and emotional development, which included teaching them how to advocate for themselves, self-regulate their emotions, and utilize their resources.
