GENERAL LIABILITY

VIRTUAL WORKSHOP

How Will This Workshop Help Me?

These are live, highly interactive online learning experiences designed for those who are newer to the Commercial Lines insurance industry. You will learn coverage fundamentals and industry terms in a fun, collaborative way with a small group of agents and brokers from across the country.

Our goal is to give you a base-level knowledge of these coverages so you can sell and properly advise your clients. Please be aware this series is not designed to teach you about USLI products or guidelines; however, we are happy to provide you with this information outside of the series.

GENERAL LIABILITY
WORKSHOP SESSIONS

Session 1: The Blame Game: A Discussion on Negligence

Whose fault is it? This question demonstrates the growing need for liability insurance. Having an understanding of how the tort of negligence affects general liability claims is key to underwriting any liability line of coverage. Attendees will leave this session with a more complete understanding of the concept of negligence, which will better prepare all parties involved in the insurance contract.

Duration: 30-60 minutes

Session 2: Don’t I Know You? Get Familiar With Named Insureds and Additional Insureds

What many consider the starting point of any insurance policy — the named insured — can also cause the most confusion and generate the most questions. In this session, we will discuss some of the most impactful gray areas associated with named insured/additional insured and the important role both entities play in insurance coverage.

Duration: 30-60 minutes

Session 3: Take Cover- Understanding the CGL Coverage Form

As insurance professionals, we are often asked if something is covered or not.  Since being asked that question is both situational and tricky to answer, the best way to handle the response is to be prepared with knowledge.  This session will discuss the foundational form for general liability coverage (CG0001) and prepare you to have meaningful conversations with your customers.

Duration: 30-60 minutes
